Baby Social

Jacob and Austin had a play date today at my friend's house. It was mainly babies ages 4-10 months, but there were 2 toddlers there as well. The boys had a great time playing and socializing. Jake pretty much sat there and stared at the other babies, but hey what else is he suppose to do?! :)

Monkey-N-Around

The boys had a great time at a new place that just opened up near our house called Monkey-N-Around. It is an indoor play area with tons of activities and toys for kids of all ages. We met our play group there and spent two hours being busy bees. The advantage I see to it is the kids crash when they get home! :)

Troublesome Teeth

The past few days have been rough as Jacob cuts his two bottom teeth. There has been a lot of Tylenol, ice water rags, and holding going on here. Hopefully the pressure will be relived as soon as they both cut through completely. It kills me to see my baby in pain. :(

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July this year! Jacob was asleep for the fireworks, but Austin stayed up this year. He was fascinated by all the colors and lights in the sky. He was overwhelmed by how many there were and couldn't call out the colors fast enough. He was awestruck and ended up just saying whoa and wow with his mouth hung open and head up in the air. Way too cute!!

Happy Half Year

Jacob had his 6 month pedi appt today. I can't believe he is already half a year old! Time really does fly by. The pedi could not believe how big he has gotten...not that he started off little or anything. But he sure is a sight to see for a 6 month old. He weighed in at 22.4 pounds and 29 inches long. He is being very consistent on his growth chart being at 95% for weight and off the charts for height. Future line backer and basketball player right here! He is doing great as far as sitting up, crawling backwards (one day he'll decide to go forward), responding to his name, following voices, and recognizing his family. We will start him on solids and see how this goes. He is weaned off of breast milk and takes formula. He transitioned very well...only a few days of constipation. Poor lil guy!

Photography Adventures

For months on end I have been hearing great compliments on my pictures. How I have a good eye, capture the moment, and overall good quality in the pictures. I never though about it too much until one day I decided to try it, take a business leap and see where it takes me. So, I did it! I opened up SunKissed Photography and hope it grows into a beautiful successful business. If you know me well enough, then you know my passion for photography. You can visit my website at www.sunkissedphotos.com.

Boot

If you know me, then you know how much of a clutz I am. I was walking in the rain coming out of a restaurant (thankfully no kids in my arms) and slipped on the wet pavement. I bruised, scraped, and beat up my left foot pretty bad. We took a detoured trip to the doctor's office who set me up with an orthopedic to place me in a post-op orthopedic boot. :( That's what I get for wearing flip flops in the rain...and being clumsy.

Jen's Birthday Gift

David is such a good husband...on my 25th birthday he bought me my first ever new car! I have aways had used or hand me down vehicles and for the first time in my life I had MY own NEW car!! He did a great job and it is the PERFECT vehicle for our growing family!! It is a silver 2007 Volvo XC90 with tan leather interior. It has every single package on it except the entertainment package (which we are getting installed soon for the kids in the back). The 2nd row has a built in booster seat in the middle. You can actually move this part up near the front and take out part of the console. Then you have 3 people sitting up front with easy access to the 3rd row if needed. Neat gadgets included are a moonroof, rear assist parking, 6 CD changer, dual climate control, heated seats, air conditioning in all 3 rows, front lights that turn when the vehicle is making a turn to see what is ahead of you, side airbags for all 7 passengers, cruise control, 12 cup holders, compass in rear view mirror, radio controls on steering wheel, on-star, windshield wipers that change speed on its own according to the amount of rain coming down so you never have to adjust it, etc, etc! Volvo prides itself in being one of the safest vehicle manufactures out there. It makes me feel safe and secure being in this SUV and I am so happy to call this mine! :)

School's Out

Austin is no longer in school twice a week. Jake is older with a set daily routine and can interact with Austin, so we decided to pull Austin out. He really enjoyed spending time with his friends. I know it was a good experience for him to be in a structured setting with a teacher, fellow students, routines, lessons, etc. It will benefit him in the long run when he transitions into preschool/kindergarten later. He is such a big help around the house. One of his favorite things to do is washing dishes...bottles in particular. :)

Too Big

Jake is now too big for his infant carrier and moved up into the car seat world! We bought him a Britax and I think he likes it much better, especially since he has room to grow in the new one. He passed out on his first ride which mom and dad loved! :)
