Jake's first donut

We went out this morning to treat ourselves to Shipley's donuts for breakfast. Jake decided to take it upon himself to pick up one of Austin's donuts and have at it! He stuffed his entire mouth with the donut. I am pleased to say he finished the entire thing and without choking!

Austin and the mowers

Austin loves to sit in his room and watch the mowers outside. Every time he hears the roaring sound he goes running into his room and hops on top of his dresser to get a front row seat of the excitement. What a silly kid!

Jake - Update

Jacob is finally walking!!! After months of him just standing there he is finally taking his steps and laughing all the way through. He thinks it is hilarious and giggles every step he takes. What a silly guy! He cut 4 of his molars and now has 12 teeth. He is an eating machine...what's new there?! He is saying dada, mama, and tickle-tickle-tickle. And of course he wants to be tickled when he says it! lol For his one year check up he was 28 pounds and 33 inches long. He is right on track where he has been - at the top of the charts if not off! He is such a big boy...might as well and draft him into the NFL now! ;) He and Aus are such great friends and they really are inseparable. They do everything together and hardly ever fight. I am truly blessed to have good boys who love each other so much! Hope it stays that way forever! :)

And yes, this pic was taken right before his hair cut. Had to add it for memory sake! ;)

Austin - Update

Austin is doing wonderful with his letters and numbers. He can name all of the letters, recognize all of the ABC's, and his spelling is great! He counts to ten and even tries to match the number of fingers he holds up. He is still using both hands and has not picked a dominant hand yet. Maybe he'll be a switch hitter?! We'll see. He dresses himself and loves to put on his own socks/shoes. His clothes actually match 75% of the time! lol It's nice to get Jake ready and tell Austin to get himself dressed - and he does! He is becoming such the little man. Potty training is still going. He now is dry at night, which is fantastic! Hoping soon he will be in underwear 100% of the time. I do feel as though my photography hobby has rubbed off of him. He appears to LOVE taking pictures and at this rate, he might make this a family business! ;)

Jenny - Update

Hmmm let's see. I'm pretty much doing the same old thing of being a mama having play dates, activities, and helping my kids grow up as best as I can. My "hobby" of a business is expanding this year as I am now doing weddings. I have two booked for 2008 and I am really excited! I am partnering up with a fellow Houston photographer for the weddings and glad to have someone I can do this with (who has far more experience then I do). I still work a couple of times a month at the hospital as a high-risk OB nurse. Love doing that as always. 2008 is going to be a great year for us and can't wait for it to all unfold! :)

David - Update

Here is the latest on David. The past month he has gotten several job offers from various companies. It's great that so many people see his talent and want him to be a part of their team. He's holding out for a particular assignment and if that doesn't pan out then he'll put forth some thought on to what he thinks is best. As far as his current projects at work are going he just finished the design of West Park Tollway (continuation of it) and construction begins at the end of 2009. He also finished up the designs of roadways in Killeen to Soledo and is awaiting final approval. David is excited about the weather getting warmer so he can get back to kayaking.

Did someone say hair cut?

That's right...David gave Jake his first hair cut! Sniff sniff. I tried so hard to delay this, but knew one day this would happen...the inevitable. :( I will say David did a fantastic job and boy oh boy does Jake look older. I need my baby back! To celebrate I took Jake out to the park and he got his own little photo session to commemorate this special event. I now have two little men...

Where a kid can be a kid!

We took the kiddos to good ole' Chuck E. Cheese and they had a blast! Austin loved riding the motorcycle games with David. Jake didn't really seem interested in the games, just the pizza! Sounds about right, lol. We got their pictures taken with Mr. Cheese himself. While Austn had fun doing it, Jake did not. He was very "interested" in him and cried a few times. Poor lil Jake!
