Jen's Birthday Gift

David is such a good husband...on my 25th birthday he bought me my first ever new car! I have aways had used or hand me down vehicles and for the first time in my life I had MY own NEW car!! He did a great job and it is the PERFECT vehicle for our growing family!! It is a silver 2007 Volvo XC90 with tan leather interior. It has every single package on it except the entertainment package (which we are getting installed soon for the kids in the back). The 2nd row has a built in booster seat in the middle. You can actually move this part up near the front and take out part of the console. Then you have 3 people sitting up front with easy access to the 3rd row if needed. Neat gadgets included are a moonroof, rear assist parking, 6 CD changer, dual climate control, heated seats, air conditioning in all 3 rows, front lights that turn when the vehicle is making a turn to see what is ahead of you, side airbags for all 7 passengers, cruise control, 12 cup holders, compass in rear view mirror, radio controls on steering wheel, on-star, windshield wipers that change speed on its own according to the amount of rain coming down so you never have to adjust it, etc, etc! Volvo prides itself in being one of the safest vehicle manufactures out there. It makes me feel safe and secure being in this SUV and I am so happy to call this mine! :)

School's Out

Austin is no longer in school twice a week. Jake is older with a set daily routine and can interact with Austin, so we decided to pull Austin out. He really enjoyed spending time with his friends. I know it was a good experience for him to be in a structured setting with a teacher, fellow students, routines, lessons, etc. It will benefit him in the long run when he transitions into preschool/kindergarten later. He is such a big help around the house. One of his favorite things to do is washing dishes...bottles in particular. :)

Too Big

Jake is now too big for his infant carrier and moved up into the car seat world! We bought him a Britax and I think he likes it much better, especially since he has room to grow in the new one. He passed out on his first ride which mom and dad loved! :)

Sin City

We went to Sin City for Father's Day weekend with some friends of ours. We stayed at the Mirage and what a great choice that was! It was a tropical paradise in the middle of the desert, incredibly relaxing and beautiful scenery. We did an enormous amount of activities there from gambling, hotel hopping, going to the wax museum, eating at the Top of the World, going to Hoover Dam and Lake Meade, cruising down the strip (in our rented Corvette Z06), going downtown to Fremont, and so much more. There is no way you can see and do everything there in just 3 days. We plan on making a trip back up there in the next year or two. Not to mention I won a total of $170 on slot machines and $100 at the Roulette table. I am a gambler at heart! :)

Mr. PE

We found out today that David passed his PE (Professional Engineer) Exam!!!! YIPEE! What an amazing achievement for him! Engineers have to take the EIT Exam when they graduate (which he passed on the first attempt) and practice under that license for 4 years before they are eligible to take the PE. The PE is a rough vigorous exam that takes numerous months to study for. The passing rate is only 57% and David was one of the 57% to pass it...not to mention on his first attempt! The PE is notorious for having to take it a few times before you pass, but not with David. He is too smart! Congratulations David on your huge achievement!! You will be able to grow as an engineer and continue doing great things in transportation.

Beach Time

My brother and I took Austin to the beach today. He was a little afraid of the water at first, but had no problems going in with us if we held him. I guess that's a good thing, better to be safe and careful! If you know Austin then you know he loves birds...boy did he have a great time chasing those sea gulls! It was scorching hot outside, so we didn't last too long at the beach. Not to mention this was my first time away from Jake during a family outing, so I really missed him. It was a great one on one break with Austin though!

Sitting Up

Jake is now sitting up on his own! Way to go Jakers! I put him in the tripod position and low and behold, he stayed. It is much easier for him and Austin to play now. Only if Jacob could talk and understand exactly how to play then everything would be great! ;)

Best Buds

Austin adores Jacob and vice versa. These two boys could sit and stare at each other all day long if they had the choice. If they aren't checking each other out then more then likely they are hugging. I am thankful that Austin has been such a sweet, loving older brother....for now at least! lol I know there will come a time when they will start fighting over the silliest things and play fighting. But at this moment in time I cherish my two boys and their love for each other. I hope this love grows and continues as they age. They are too precious for words!!
